Make a difference

Imagine you’re a new missionary to the field; you’ve just uprooted your family, packed your belongings and moved to the dusty bush of Africa.  You have shelter, water and sometimes electricity.  You have a village full of nationals hungry for the gospel and you have your children hungry for an education.  Given your location, your limited home-school supplies will only get you and your children so far.  As they get older their needs and demands will get greater.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could give your kids the academic challenge they desire, the sports they love, the extra curricular activities they crave, and the peer-to-peer social interaction they need?

Since 1906, Rift Valley Academy has been educating the children of missionaries in Africa.

RVA students hail from over 20 different passport countries.  It offers its nearly 500 students what any average American school would offer.

Nearly 93% of RVA students continue on in education to colleges and universities around the world.

Compared to their N. American counterparts, RVA students develop a very different worldview.  The realities of poverty, hunger, drought and disease are understood in ways about which N. American students can only imagine or read.  Discussions on politics, freedom and democracy take on new meaning when you live in countries where freedoms are suppressed and democracy is only a distant ideal. Fast food and caramel macchiato's give way to mandazi's and chai.  Multi-cultural diversity are not buzz words, its a way of life.

Become a part of a bigger story. The story of Rift Valley Academy is the story of God shaping the hearts and minds of the children of missionaries to impact and change the world. You have a unique opportunity to partner with us in training, discipling and educating these young people. Further more your your gift and or partnership will be used to assist and reach those in need in the greater Kijabe community through our interaction and support of our local community. Here are some of the impacts already made through those already partnering with us.

  • Discipleship of hundreds of high school students through dorm parenting, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Training and equipping of dorm parents.
  • Education of national students in secondary school and university.
  • Rebuilding a home lost in a fire.
  • A kidney transplant for national woman suffering with diabetes.
Here's how you can make a difference.

IN PRAYER

You remember to bring us and our family before the Lord as we seek to minister to the students at RVA.  Please also be in prayer for the nearly 200 national staff of skilled works, craftsman, cooks, mechanics, and support staff the help keep the school running smoothly.  We will from time to time bring you their stories.  Pray also for the students of RVA that the eyes of their hearts may be opened so that they will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.
